Applications for the first Dublin Talent Night are now open!

 

The Dublin Talent Night is organised by the Talent Summit and will offer you an event full of networking and recruitment opportunities.

 

You will have the chance of meeting innovative companies and influential speakers of Dublin’s tech scene!

The event is going to take place on the 10th May 2017 from 5.30 to 8pm and will include keynote speeches, a panel discussion and a networking session over pizza and drinks. The event is supported by Bank of Ireland.

Second semester guest speakers!

The MSc Digital Marketing career ambassadors and class reps will be hosting guest speakers at Smurfit during the next couple of months.

KPMG International Case Competition 2017 (KICC)


The KPMG International Case Competition (KICC) gives students the chance to analyze, develop, present – and win an all-expenses-paid trip to the KICC international finals in Lisbon, Portugal to compete for the global title of KICC Champion on 10-13 April 2017.

It gives students the opportunity put their consulting skills to the test,
explore business cases on ‘Big Data‘ and ‘FinTech‘, meet new peers, and take the first step towards an extraordinary career.

KICC is one of the largest and most recognized case competitions among the Big Four. In 2016, 20,000 students from 399 universities across 22 countries came together to participate in KICC.

What opportunities will KICC 2017 give students?
Participating in the KPMG International Case Competition (KICC) can give
students a head start in their career. Students can expect to gain valuable
real-world experience, learn new skills and have an epic adventure.
Experience the fast-paced world of casework and collaborate to conquer
complexity.

How do teams apply?
We will be holding national heats in February 2017, to decide on the winning team who will represent KPMG Ireland in the KPMG International Case Competition (KICC) in Lisbon.

To apply to compete, students must:
– Arrange a team of four students to compete in KPMG national heats –
students must be available on 02, 03, 16 and/or 17 February 2017 to compete.

Our part-time classmate Giacomo Iotti (Customer Service Rep. for Google AdWords) will be giving us a more “technical” presentation of AdWords as well as tips for getting the certification (where to study/practice, what subjects to focus on, etc.)

International Food Fair at Smurfit

The Cems Club Dublin is delighted to invite you to its first CSR event for the semester: the International Food Fair
The event will be held in the Smurfit Oratory on Tuesday 25th October from 11am to 4pm. 
 
The aim of the event is to raise funds for the Dublin Simon Community, an organisation which helps homeless people in the surroundings. In order to do so, students from different nationalities will gather together, bring traditional homemade food and sell it at very reasonable prices. 
 
Many students (mostly Cems but also some non-Cems) will help by bringing food: up to now, we have around 23 dishes from 14 countries! However, we hope to get some more in the following days.
